Shorter School Weeks May Not be Beneficial
A new report from researchers at the University of Montana shows shorter school weeks may hurt student performance and school budgets, according to a report from Montana Public Radio. While a growing number of schools in Montana have switched to four-day weeks, the researchers say data analysis on four-day school weeks “demonstrates a disturbing trend […]
Yellowstone County News Endorses Tim Sheehy for U.S. Senate
Given the gravity of the Montana’s U.S. Senate race this election cycle, the YCN editorial board has decided to endorse a candidate for the first time in its history. The YCN editorial board endorses Tim Sheehy for U.S. Senate over the current Senator, Jon Tester, and other third-party candidates. We believe Sheehy outperforms Tester in […]
The Border Czar
Did Kamala forget that as the Border Czar of the United States her actions on illegal immigration would be highly visible? This visibility, I might add, shows a job of utter failure, if not a downright dereliction of duties. Mainstream media is aiding and abetting this dereliction by providing cover. Cover…meaning her dereliction of duty […]
Attempted Murder
The last I heard, or read, the FBI had declared the attempted murder of President Donald J. Trump was done by a lone murderer. Such a statement is political speak. (Does this remind us of similar statements about Hunter Biden’s laptop?) That is, the murderer may have been alone when he fired the shots, but […]

Montana State Fund (MSF), Montana’s only not-for-profit workers’ compensation insurance provider, announced its participation in promoting workplace safety through a series of events at the MontanaFair in Billings this year. With Montana historically ranking among the highest in the nation for workplace accidents, MSF dedicated resources this year into focusing to reduce these statistics, particularly […]
Conservative Corner: KIND PEOPLE
My wife has a card sent from one of her friends with a cover that says, “Kind people are the best kind of people.” This friend happens to be from Minnesota and is obviously one of the ‘Minnesota Nice’ people herself. We have some neighbors down the street who moved to Billings from Minnesota. These […]
You Can Trust Your Vote Will Count. Just Don’t Listen to the Whiners.
by David Crisp: Two things we can be sure of about the 2024 election: Millions of Americans will be disappointed, and Donald Trump will accept the results only if he wins. Trump has never backed down from his claims that the 2020 election was stolen, even though no solid evidence of that has surfaced. Dozens […]
Montana Senator Jon Tester yet to Endorse Kamala Harris for President
Weeks after President Biden’s dismal debate performance, Montana Senator Jon Tester was quiet to publicly call for President Joe Biden to step down. It was only until last week that Senator Tester started publicly encouraging President Biden to step down after pressure from other top Democrats had already been calling for him to step down […]
ELECTION INTEGRITY?
There have been numerous conversations concerning election integrity the past four years. There have also been new election laws written, and new election laws overturned by legislation from the bench. Since you and I have little control over the courts we might ask ourselves, “What actions can we take to shepherd election integrity?” To begin, […]
