Dear Editor,
Did you know that the Billings Public Works Department wants to raise fees for garbage and water in their proposed budget? This means your family will pay more for basic needs starting this year. If people in Billings speak up now, we may be able to stop this.
Across Billings, they want to increase garbage fees by 9% for homes and 7% for businesses. Families will pay more, even though businesses often have more garbage.
In Billings Heights, they want to increase water fees by 28% in all of Ward 2 and parts of Ward 1. Families will notice a big impact on their monthly water bill.
As a concerned citizen, I’m asking for your help. Say NO to raising fees for garbage and water in 3 easy steps. Our voice can make a difference if we act now.
- Find the ward you live in: https://billings.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=f0f22e3284ed43ee89b79b289d19d835
- Find the City Council Member that represents your ward: https://mt-billings3.civicplus.com/159/City-Council-Members
- Call or email your City Council Member and tell them to say NO on raising fees for garbage and water.
