High Limit Sprint Car Series, movie nights, and monster trucks will be coming to Big Sky Speedway this summer season, according to Big Sky Speedway Promoter Dru Brown. “We are already hard at work, creating a new schedule, trying to get big events in the (Billings) area and this year we definitely succeeded,” stated Brown.
The High Limit Sprint Car (HLSC) Series will make its debut at the Speedway this summer bringing two nights of high-speed dirt racing. Started by NASCAR driver, Kyle Larson, and his brother-in-law Brad Sweet, the HLSC series will come to the Big Sky Speedway at the end of June with tickets on sale at bigskyspeedway.com.
Movie nights will also be coming to the speedway this year with the track recently purchasing a massive jumbotron-style TV for the front stretch of the track. According to Brown, the first night will be free admission to the community. Brown did state that they do expect some “bumps and bruises,” but stated that they are planning on using that first night to ensure iron out the process for following movie nights. Brown also stated that they have additional plans for the jumbotron including MarioKart parties and showings of big races at other tracks.
Monster trucks will also be making a return to Big Sky Speedway this year with Brown stating the event nearly sold out last year. Scheduled for July 18, Monster Trucks Under the Big Sky will also include tough truck competitions. Tickets are also on sale now.
The Harvey Ostermiller Memorial Sprint Car Race as well as the Hample Memorial Late Model Tour will also be returning this year. The Hample Memorial Late Model Tour is scheduled for July 31 and August 1 and the Harvey Ostermiller Memorial Race is scheduled for August 28 and 29.
