January 2, 1946 – April 21, 2025
Linda was born January 2nd, 1946 in Glendive, MT to Leonard and Mary Slagsvold. Linda was the oldest of four kids (Stuart, Kenny, and Shellie) and was raised on the family farm seven miles north of Lindsay. Linda and her siblings attended Centerville School through 8th grade. Centerville was a one-room school in which there were 10 kids, Linda, her siblings and her cousins. Linda went on to finish high school in Glendive. In 1970 Linda married Don Lange of Savage. They briefly lived in Savage and then moved to Lockwood and ultimately moved to Huntley. Linda and Don have lived in the Heights for the past 25 years.
Linda was a tireless worker always trying to improve herself. She worked many different jobs including bartending, elevator clerk, bank proofer and she ultimately spent most of her career in insurance retiring from Hoiness LaBar. Linda was especially proud of achieving her Commercial Insurance Counselor certification which took much studying and several levels of testing to achieve. In “retirement” Linda volunteered and worked at St. Vincent’s hospital. Linda was an avid sewer/quilter and loved to read. She was always very active in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Shepherd and recently at Atonement Lutheran where she was in the choir, volunteer coordinator, lector and Church Council.
Linda loved her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing games, cooking, joking and watching her grandkids sports and activities.
Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don, her three children DJ Thoen, Trever (LaNette) Lange, and Casey Lange. Surviving grandchildren include Brandon, Kaylee, Madison, Dylan, Hailey, Raegen and Kendall and six great grandchildren, Mia, Sadie, Ella, Raelynn, Cami, and Carlee.
Services for Linda will be on Friday, May 2nd, 2025 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Billings at 3pm with inurnment and reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers there will be a donation made to Atonement Lutheran in Linda’s memory.
Our families would like to thank you for the cards, flowers and kind expressions of sympathy shown following Linda’s passing. Your support at this difficult time is deeply appreciated by all of us.
